• I’m a Year 13 graduate wanting to finish my diploma and explore ministry options

As you have completed several subjects at a diploma-level as part of the Year 13 program, you are eligible for academic credit if you choose to continue your studies with us.

We suggest: Completing two further units of study to receive a Diploma of Christian Studies. This can be achieved online through the Timothy Partnership, or via the week-long Ministry Intensives, which fit neatly around your work or study!

After that? You might like to complete the double Diploma or Advanced Diploma program. This can be done face-to-face at Youthworks College, or online via the Timothy Partnership, and will qualify you to work as a Children’s or Youth Minister (or set you on a pathway to further theological study and other ministry leadership positions!)

  • I am actively involved in volunteer ministry, and just want to deepen my knowledge and skills

College isn’t just for those looking to turn their ministry into a vocation – we have plenty of students who are happy to be trained lay leaders in their church, and that’s great! We have several options for those wanting to be more effective in their lay ministry to young people.

We suggest: Study individual subjects that capture your interest via the week-long Ministry Intensives or online through the Timothy Partnership. These will sharpen your theology and enhance your ministry skills, and fit around your work or study.

After that? Consider completing a Diploma of Ministry or Theology online through the Timothy Partnership, or part-time on campus for a more well-rounded theological foundation.

  • I’ve been thinking about vocational ministry, but want to test my suitability first

Committing yourself to vocational ministry is a big decision, and we want to help you get it right!

We suggest: The MTS-Apprenticeship model is perfect for you! Receive specialised theological and ministry training from us whilst you test the waters by completing an MTS apprenticeship with your church. You complete both programs in the same time it would take to do either individually, and gain vital experience to help you make up your mind!

After that? With a double Diploma you are qualified to work as a Children's or Youth Minister, but you might also like to pursue further study and Anglican ordination by entering second-year at Moore College (requires a credit average and a pass in Greek).

  • I want to be a vocational minister

Great! Our specialised courses will qualify you as a children’s, youth or family minister, or set you on a pathway towards other ministry leadership including church planting or mission work!

We suggest: Enrolling in our full-time double Diploma program, which will provide you with the specialised skills and theological knowledge you’ll need for effective ministry to children and youth.

After that? You can put your shoulder to the wheel as a Children's or Youth Minister, or pursue further study. Please contact us for more information on how you can receive advanced standing at Moore College or SMBC.

Regardless of what you’re looking to do, chances are it will include young people, and so your ministry will benefit from the specialised training only Youthworks can provide.

  • I want to be a School Chaplain

Chaplaincy is a rewarding career path and a vital support system to local schools and communities. You have two options, depending on whether you are looking to work full- or part-time.

We suggest: You need to complete the Introduction to Pastoral Care and Advanced Pastoral Care Certificate through the Timothy Partnership. This will enable you to work in a school part-time. We also recommend you complete a Diploma or Theology or Ministry, either through the Timothy Partnership or face-to-face on campus.

After that? If you’re interested in going full-time as a Chaplain, you’ll require a degree. Please contact us for more information on how you can receive advanced standing at Moore College or SMBC.

  • I am a vocational minister, looking for additional knowledge/skills in a particular area

Whilst the gospel never changes, our culture and the issues facing children and youth are constantly evolving. If you’re looking for some specialised ministry skills, or some guidance in thinking through the challenges of ministering to young people, then we can help!

We suggest: Auditing individual subjects that capture your interest via the week-long Ministry Intensives or consult our online program through the Timothy Partnership. These will help sharpen your theology and enhance your ministry skills, and fit around your regular ministry commitments.

After that? You might like to continue studying and complete a diploma online via the Timothy Partnership, or part-time on campus. We are also developing a Graduate Certificate in children’s and youth ministry, so watch this space!
