Announcing Rev Mike Dicker as New Youthworks College Principal

Anglican Youthworks is excited to announce that after reviewing many exceptional candidates, the Rev Mike Dicker, currently Acting Principal & Dean of Students at Youthworks College, has accepted the appointment as Principal of Youthworks College, and officially began the position on Monday August 2nd.

“As Youthworks College celebrates its 21st anniversary, Mike will lead the next chapter in the fine tradition of great kingdom work God has produced through men and women who have studied and worked at the College. Under Mike’s leadership, we are looking forward to seeing the fruit that God will faithfully bring forth as College and churches continue to work in gospel partnership around the young people in their care,” said Canon Craig Roberts, CEO of Youthworks.

Mike brings faithful commitment to the Lord Jesus, competence as a leader, and creativity in his thinking to the role. He is very much aware of the centrality of the Scriptures in theological education.
— Rev Canon Dr Bill Salier

Mike has played a large role in discipling young people to know and love Jesus over almost two decades. His ministry work started as a youth leader in his local church for 7 years, after which he started a two-year MTS apprenticeship at Petersham Anglican Church. In his first year of MTS, Mike realised he needed more theological education and better equipping for a lifetime of effective youth and children’s ministry. He enrolled in Youthworks College, which stretched his two-year MTS to three years.

Dr Ruth Lukabyo, Dean of Women at Youthworks College, remembers teaching Mike back in 2006. “He was down to earth, he loved young people, he got high marks, and he could really tell a great story! He's still funny and smart, and just as passionate about making a difference to grow God's kingdom amongst kids and youth. I have loved working with him the last few years, and think he will make a great Principal!”
