Practice and principles
Cooper’s journey with Youthworks College has equipped him to put principles into practice right away.
Now, both as a Youth Minister and a parent, he’s building a lasting, meaningful ministry focused on what truly matters.
Leading and Learning

Challenge and opportunity
Keats’ journey with Youthworks College started in 2018, though returned in 2021 after a well needed break. During that time, he says, God used him to strengthen his faith and identity in Christ.
Now balancing work, study, and ministry, Keats is passionate about youth and sees Youthworks College as a place where theology and practical ministry meet. Keats has found the subjects challenging yet enriching, claiming that "it’s one of the best things, to be challenged, because it opens up your mind. The more you open your mind up to being challenged, the more you can grow.“
The most wonderful thing
As a Muslim child growing up in Indonesia, Eka was familiar with the daily call to prayer and the depiction of Jesus as a prophet in the Quran.
Transformed by God’s Word, she now serves in the children’s ministry at her Anglican church in Sydney, sharing that studying at Youthworks College has equipped her with skills like running a classroom, understanding children’s behaviours, connecting well and storytelling.
She looks forward to sharing her faith with Muslim friends and family.
Tenacity and Hope
Despite facing obstacles of limited career prospects and low literacy, Terrence’s determination has driven him to want to give back to his community and use his education from Youthworks College to inspire and guide young people in their faith.
Being informed
Chloe Begbie is unsure whether she wants to go into ministry or teaching, but says the Centre for Christian Education course is helpful whichever way she chooses in the long run.
Being able to apply newly learned theoretical points in a classroom is one of the advantages Chloe Begbie says exists with Youthworks’ Centre for Christian Education (CCE).
A pleasing balance
There has been a four-year degree, lots of placements and more than three-years teaching experience, but Jessie McMaster is not yet finished with study.
A proactive step
When Hamish Gray finished high school, he wasn’t 100% sure what he wanted to do but hoped to continue to learn and be challenged. This is precisely what happened when he enrolled in Youthworks’ Centre for Christian Education (CCE) diploma, a practical one-year course which combines theology and teaching.
